Against my better judgement, I was trolling at Taniguchi Gakki and saw the Sire S7 in Sherwood Green. The color caught my eye. The 2 point trem made me wonder if I'd like it, and the SS frets made me wonder why I haven't yet tried a Sire. Then I saw locking tuners, alder body, rolled edges, bone nut, and I'm tempted.

It looks like either Taniguchi Gakki or Thomann would be happy to sell me one across the waters, but Sweetwater isn't stocking lefties for some hateful reason.

Anyone have opinions on these?

I have no Sire guitars, only basses. That said, if the quality to price ratio of their guitars is similar to their basses, you should check it out.

Wow, looking at their website, Sire has a lot of models now. When they first came out, there were only a few. I contacted Sire at the time about the availability of a lefthanded CSB(F) H7 (their version of a 335) as up until then, I had never seen any lefty 335 version from anyone with that finish. They told me sorry, they had no plans to make a lefthanded version of anything. So, I sighed and forgot about it.

Then a couple years ago, there was one on the Thomann site with a respectable markdown on a pre-Christmas special:

Of course, no more than a month after I bought it, a CSBF AS-1000 popped up, and because of my lifelong obsession with CSBF, I had to buy that too.

The build quality on the H7 is very good, I can't imagine it wouldn't be any less on the other models.

Yeah, I'm surprised by how big their variety is getting for a young a company. Reminds me of finding Rondo when I did. So of course I just emailed them that they'd have an instant client if they made a version of lefty Jaguar. I'd still consider the S7 as well, I'm reading good things anyway. GC used has been pretty slim on lefties.

It seems the entire used market has been pretty thin on lefties, at least ones that I find unique or interesting. I guess that's a good thing right now as I have an old 1996 Corvette that I've let languish for several years and is begging for my time and energy...

I check guitar sites often to get some inorganic amusement - you know, window shopping -, and this thread reminded me of those Sire guitars, their LP model specifically (L7), and I also reminded that I liked it, although I'm not sure if it has the countoured heel - the L3 HH model does -; but still, I like it, and went there to look :)

And I don't know, maybe it's because Steve @BatUtilityBelt mentions Jaguar guitars two times a week at least, I believe I'm starting to like them :D . The one at Sire looks very nice.

@tobijohn Yeah, you should not forget about that lovely Corvette!

LOL, I do! It's because Fender (and especially Squier) makes them for righties and not lefties. That triggers my OCD.

Edit: I would definitely buy a J5 if they made that lefty.

I'm not anymore. After letting it sit for seven years (coincides with the exact time I discovered Rondo and AGF), it cost a couple of Gibsons to get it running again.

This is to answer my own question. Yes, they DO have the contoured/shaved neck heel. Nice. But it's too nice ($$) for me LOL  :P

In all this time, I've never asked you if you ever bought a righty and turned it leftie?
