The lady had hundreds of Bonsai trees of all kinds in her greenhouses. She gave me a tour and made some suggestions on good beginner trees. I picked what I considered to be a pretty classic looking tree and she tidied it up a bit and sold it to me. She also gave me several pamphlets of Korean religious literature that, from what I could gather, seemed to suggest the world was ending soon. It was one of the strangest, most unique experiences of my life. This must have been around 2007-2008. I'm not positive, but I think my mom has kept the tree alive to this day. It ended being a great gift, and she has several different trees now. I'll have to snap some pics the next time I visit.
