. Should add it to the agf great riffs playlist. If you only know the hits or dont know much ufo check it out. More little riffs of grunts, sighs, gasps and chortles all in on song. Just genius. Whas schenker like 19 when he did this?

Black Pumas. They were on the verge of big things before CV19.
When was the last time you saw an audience cheer at the beginning of a guitar solo? On network TV, no less.

I wouldn’t say I disliked it... it’s just not my genre I suppose.
I appreciated the musicianship. The overall sound is not one that does much for me.
My two brothers and I do this weekly thing wherein one of us chooses an album we love for the other two to listen to.
Both of them loved this album.

Understood. I had to ask because that is probably one of the most celebrated albums of the 2000’s. And for QOTSA fans, it’s tops.Cyphre wrote: ↑Tue Jun 16, 2020 6:29 pmI wouldn’t say I disliked it... it’s just not my genre I suppose.

Dave Grohl played drums on the whole record. They recorded the drums and cymbals separately.

Very cool stuff. They remind me a bit of Like Trains and Taxis, who surfaced briefly about ten years ago but seem to have disappeared since then.brattmatter wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:33 pm Black Pumas. They were on the verge of big things before CV19.

Here's one I never get tired of, from one of the best Texas rock bands of my college days in the seventies. If you have a short attention span, just watch from 0:49 to 2:40 (although the other two guitar players aren't bad either) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dv2JGq__-s
If nothing else, I'm amazed by the sound captured by just a videocamera in the audience.

I've been on a Sonic Temple kick lately:

Just arrived the other day. The Sword "Chronology 2006-2018". 3 CDS with rarities, unreleased tracks and excellent booklet with extensive liner notes. Worth it if you're a fan.

This was my previous "Listening To". The Cult "Sonic Temple 30". 5 Cds including remixes, demos, and a live show from Wembley in 1989.
Worth the cash or crypto if you a Cult Fan. Excellent packaging with no jewel cases to crack in shipment.

Just got the CD. Not hi-fi recordings, but sounds great.
Amazing how good Hendrix was playing before he was famous. Same guy, same basic talent, playing R&B covers and blues.
Included are rippers like Drivin South, What I Say, Aint That Peculiar, Last night, Come On. He is killing it on most tunes played. Probably having more fun than when he was top billing, toward end of his life.
