Man, I hope not - I'd much rather drive an electric car than cook on an electric stove. I will have to start stockpiling propane

Google "induction cooking" and click on the Consumer Reports link.
I fully expect to see that piping gas into homes will become illegal withing the next 5-10 years.

Induction cooking is so much better than old fashioned gas and electric they should both disappear in a few years.

Induction cooking is so much better than old fashioned gas and electric they should both disappear in a few years.

There is no central gas company piping into homes in Thailand so if you want gas you need to buy a tank and pipe it in yourself (or store it under the sink) kaboom. Therefore, while I have a small gas device for outside (butane canister) I use a double induction cooktop in the house. Fast and easy to clean

I have a regular induction cooktop in the kitchen with 4 or 5 units and an induction HOB in the mancave. I'd never consider anything else!

It took me awhile to warm up to them but once I found out that if you use heavier quality cookware, they are a dream. Anything thin gauge just heats too quickly and is difficult to meter the cooking technique. The girlfriend who grew up helping mom on huge gas fired woks at her restaurant just turns it up full and nearly burns the house down. I had to buy a separate ceramic infrared cooker just for the few times she wants to cook something...too funny

I never knew about the problem with thin gauge cookware because everything I have is commercial grade stainless or cast iron (and as I get older I try to avoid the cast iron to the extent possible!)

Too many people using propane around here so i don't see it going anywhere, even in the next 20 years.

Infrastructure will not be be built before the cars can use it. It will be built on a slow basis. Anyway, they charge twice as much as it would cost to recharge in your own home. And as to fast charging, the faster you charge a battery, you shorten it's life, and increase the risk of overheating/explosion. As of now, you are not saving any money by buying a electric vehicle. And as to the cars heater, our 3 year old car has electric PTC heater so you do get heat before the engine warms up. Let's see, rechargeable chain saw, nope, rechargeable snow blower, nope, rechargeable lawn mower, nope. None of them would last long enough to get the job done without swapping batteries. I don't even like electric stoves and will never have one.

I seem to have convinced my wife that I have an inexhaustible supply of methane gas, so maybe that's the future.

Congress appropriated $7.5B for building EV charging stations yet none have been built. None in two years since the money was approved. I repeat, NONE. They better do better with the billions they collect in EV fees or we'll all be walking.

I definitely one to get appliance that do induction cooking and have convection in the oven (basically air frying).
I'm game to get an electric vehicle. Might grab an F-150 Lightning this year.
