It has renewed a complete other genre for me! I love it! Next stop, Reverb Deluxemickey wrote:I'm just glad that you are as pleased with it as I am with your old Martin.
Your Douglas harkens me back to the "good old days" of rondo when we were all chasing b-stocks, AL-2000's were on sale for well under $200 on a regular basis and he had entire pages of semi-hollow's from Douglas, Agile etc. I had one of the big jazzbox Douglas' for a while, don't remember the model but it was also under $200.peskypesky wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 4:39 pm Gorgeous.
My brother bought a Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman last fall...and it is the single best electric guitar I've ever laid hands on. The neck plays like a dream. Effortless, and the tone is to die for...And of course, it looks like a million bucks.
My Douglas WNO-650BR may look like a Gretsch at first glance....and at $240, it was a helluva bargain....

but I guess sometimes there is a reason why expensive guitars cost so much.
But....I'm still sticking with my Douglas.![]()
Most likely either a Douglas WNO-630 or a WNO-640, those were the two largest Douglas models that Rondo sold.uwmcscott wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 5:08 pm

Those were definitely the glory days...It really saddens me that Kurt went in the direction he did...but it's his business.uwmcscott wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 5:08 pm Your Douglas harkens me back to the "good old days" of rondo when we were all chasing b-stocks, AL-2000's were on sale for well under $200 on a regular basis and he had entire pages of semi-hollow's from Douglas, Agile etc. I had one of the big jazzbox Douglas' for a while, don't remember the model but it was also under $200.
Thank you! I’m in a rental at the moment and close on my new house next Thursday. I’ll finally have my amp back after FOUR MONTHS. I can’t wait to hear what I’ve learned through it!aullucci wrote:Absolutely gorgeous Gretsch. And bonus points for opening you up to a new style. That’s why we buy all this crap, right? Congrats!
Even backwards, that guitar is super cool! I've never seen a purple Gretsch before. Is that a 6120?
It is really rich! I really tried to capture the color as the last pictures I took made it look lighter!bleys21 wrote:The color of that guitar is to die for, just stunning!
That's sweet. What's your current amp? It seems like you have a thing for the Fender Blackface style (not that there's anything wrong with thatbrentona wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 6:59 pmThank you! I’m also shopping for a new amp. I’m torn between -
Tone Master Deluxe Reverb
Real Deluxe Reverb
Hot Rod Deluxe
They all have huge pluses in my head.

I had many amps that were eaten in a fire. In my delirium I ordered a Carvin V3M as they had just come out. I must have gotten a good one. Just swapped a V1 and it sounds great. But I miss my Fender tones!!aullucci wrote:That's sweet. What's your current amp? We like to ignore that period of time, the two of us. It was a low beginning to a bright relationship lol.fatjack wrote:Glad to see the Gretsch finally made its way to you from USPS hell. Even better it has someone who loves it.
