I did that once and got some practice laps in a brutal champion gt350. He had a Nascar transmission that half the time he never even used the clutch. Closest way to experience some of it would be corner-working. I have done that with vintage motorcycle racing, it is work, but a lot of fun - got great sidecar parade laps once!
