I thought it was weird with the first time. The second time I thought might be a fluke. But now I've bought Ktaxon cases 3 times, and every time I unbox one, it has a horrible warehouse smell that I have only experienced with industrial products from China. And I'm a long-Covid dude who can't smell food anymore but I can smell toxic stuff, and holy cow. These need to sit in a room with the door shut for a few days before they can be allowed to interact with guitars or people. And I find them to be good cases for every day use - nothing special, but not garbage. Anyone else?

Long covid can have messed up sniffers. Have you had a few other people smell to confirm?

There is definitely a "Chinese factory" smell, that's for sure.

Nope, I haven't. But (at least in my case), I have lost the ability to smell foods, but the other things I smell are just as easily identified as before. Chlorine, ammonia, gasoline, etc smell to me just as they did before Covid. I just can't smell garlic or cinnamon or steak or any other foods anymore. But "chinese warehouse" registers the same from these as it has with, say, any Harbor Freight machinery, only stronger with these cases.
