I was listening to some awesome Cab Calloway (the man is a genius), and then came across this clip. Everyone's so multitalented. Feel like I've got to work some tap into my guitar playing now or I'm not a talented enough musician... :)

Those old 'race's shorts and movies are cringeworthy in some respects. But when you straight look at the talent and the fact they shot on extremely low budget compared to white productions,the quality is amazing.

Seeing as how both black and white performers were doing the same thing at that time in terms of performance standards, I fail to see the racism. Oppression maybe. Welcome to Hollywood.
