Ok there is A LOT going on with this one and everything is intentional. From the drums that go off and back on beat in the slow part to the harmonies that drift and come back together. Its got unison, its got dissonance and its got the usual weedly weedly, chunka chunka stuff I love to play.

This tune really came out because of a nightmare I had last night. Dream just had me on a hospital bed moments before I died and a doctor coming over to tell me "You're gonna die soon" and then... Lights out but I woke up and quickly said to myself "Not yet, there's a lot left to do" and ended up praying myself back to sleep. Definitely a wierd one. (Shouldn't have had that donut)

So there it is, hope you enjoy, this one actually took me 3+ hours working out all the rhythm parts, harmonies quad tracking and laying down the borderline impossible bass. (I really need to invest in a better bass guitar)

Anywho, hope you like and let me know what you think.

Ok, sounds like something I might have said back when I was trying to record and had a few oopsies here and there. I might have said something like "Oh that was intentional to add tension as a counterpoint to the harmony." Difference is I would have been lying......

Glad something good came out of your nightmare. Never eat a "spiked" pastry just before bed. Or swimming. :D

This is the most hilarious part of all - 3 hours?? Like that's a loooong time to turn out a piece of this complexity with Pro studio level playing, mixing and recording! I once spent 48 hours programming a drum track that almost everyone HATED. :D

Anywho, hope you like and let me know what you think.

Epic tune is EPIC! Pretty doggone amazing ride here ER. Know I will be back for another listen soon. Not wishing you more nightmares or boredom, but if that inspires a result like this you might not regret it too much if it does happen again.

Damn.... just damn. For me, that's probably the best thing you've ever done.

And the drums...you had to program that, right? And probably manually, since its not a standard beat by any stretch of the imagination...

Thanks dude!!!
I did a half programming like usual. I used a few of the midi packs from GGD and modified them a bit to fit my needs. I really suck at drum programming so I cheat where I can. :)

Glad you liked it!

I would say you're pretty good at the drum programming, I can't think of a song you've done that hasn't had great sounding drums. But this song just has a killer drum track, so kudos for that!

Oh, and all that fancy guitar playing was pretty good too. ;)
