The first release from our new Ep is up on Spotify and YouTube...completely recorded at band room by yours truly and mixed at home. Even drums are all organic no samples.
Solo guitar is AxeFX II Ultra, my rhythms and melodic lead is Boss GT-8 into Mooer Radar.

Awesome, as usual.
Great off-the-floor recording! The drums sound pretty good, and it’s VERY cool that they aren’t “enhanced”. I’d like to see what you could do in a more controlled recording environment.

Reminds me a little of Wildest Dreams by Iron Maiden.

Thanks guys! It did take a lot of work to get it to sound okay - and we're currently working on a couple songs and this time we will try using triggers and completely sampled drums. It's a lot of fun to try out different methods.
The goal would be we'd come up with some kind of system that would be easy and streamlined enough, we could constantly record and release new singles at least on a monthly basis.

Yep, couldn't put my finger (earlobe?) on it. Love the Eighties sound and definitely Maiden influence in there.
deeaa I dig it.

Just wait till you hear one of the new songs...it's VERY maiden with lots of Loneliness of the long...type guitar riff and even words are maidenesque dealing with mayans ...but first have four songs lined up ready to be published a few weeks in between or a month...

Well holy crap! Weren't you sort of going to quit playing about 2 years ago or so?
I fight so hard to be 1/10th as good. It kinda pisses me off
That's a good song.

Heh, thanks ...yeah, I had to make a decision to either call it quits because I was fed up with making recordings at home after like, I dunno, 20 or wo EP or CD releases in a decade. ..or join a band.
So I did the latter. Auburn Heights just celebrated the first year of existence a month ago and we've two EPs ready. We will record a couple more songs and remaster them all for the first full length release I suppose. Or maybe just keep releasing singles, people don't seem to much care for albums anyways.

And I got tired of trying to keep a band together, opting instead to record by myself at home!

Yeah, that's what I did back when my second son was born, 11 years ago...and it was great! It was just too much work to be in a band with two kids, and as it turns out both more or less on the spectrum to boot. Glad I was sensible enough to drop band playing back then.
But now they're doing fine and need no constant help any more so I'm free again to have some more time-consuming hobbies

A new, more pop-oriented tune out - only on Spotify for now. Have to think about possible video too..

Excellent, as usual! I like the two distinct guitar parts panned out wide.
It's on Apple Music too, BTW.

Ah! Good to know!
Got loads of music coming up to release, several Inkilä songs and another EP (metal) from Northern Insomnia ...
A bit OT but here's a release a couple days ago in Finnish...this is a rare breed of songs as all the guitars are mine, all acoustics and electrics and it features solos as well, which I very rarely play.
And, it features a line by my youngest kid too.
