New Tune - Insanely Complex

So this started out as an RnB tune, at least the progression did. I was toying with some Usher tunes if you can believe it. (yeah I know - just trying to shake things up)
Well this monstrosity came out. I am not sure if I like it or not, not sure if it sounds good or not, but it has some of the most finger twisting, pick hand cramping stuff I've ever recorded. Enough to where I didn't need to throw in an actual metal, weedly weedly type solo.
Anywho, hope you guys enjoy the ride... And let me know what you think, while I ICE my fingers lol.

Lol, I agree with Doc, I'm not hearing the Usher connection. That said, I do realize that we have 12 notes, and only so many ways to arrange them, so anything can be made into any style.
I do like the tune, though. Funny enough, it doesn't sound as finger-rending as some of your other stuff, but I'll take your (and your fingers) word for it.

It sure did not sound like you were struggling at all...very clean throughout, even with all the meter/pace changes. Well done as always sir!
I'll be completely honest about Usher too - I've heard the name, but couldn't name a single song so I would not have even noticed a connection if it was right in my face

Thanks fellas. The middle part was the tough part, lots of string skipping and moving around changing directions put my economy picking chops to the test. It’s all right around 3:30-4:00. Not to mention doubling that on a bass was not fun. Carpel Tunnel anyone?
And you won’t recognize an Usher tune in there. I forgot what I was learning, as I don’t know much about his repertoire. Plus, I try to stay away from note for note stuff or even similar progressions. Don’t want to borrow too much
