The classic and iconic look of Marshall. Similar to muscle cars of the same vintage, even parked there at rest it communicates a message of brute power.

Has it occurred to anyone else that a Marshall head and a pair of 4X12s is like the late 20th century version of a lintel set atop a pair of sarsen standing stones at Stonehenge? (You've got to read "Stonehenge" in the voice of David St.Hubbins)

A question: If you wanted to sell it - I know that you don't - is there a market for refurbished 100 watt amps? I looked them up on Reverb and there were many amps ranging from $500-$4,000.

@tlarson58 IMHO, there will always be a market for these golden era amps with these amps. Anything actually selling on the lower end of that range you mentioned is in severe disrepair and anything on the high end is in great shape, few owners and a paper trail. Given how much of this is original, the mods are safe, reliable and useful - this amp is worth $1.8K to $3K to the right buyer. There is a 16-year-old slide player who comes to some of the jam nights I attend, whose eyes lit up when I told him of this project. And there are plenty of people who these amps are still the grail. How much they are worth is a function of the current economy, abundance of units still in operation and music scene, which is depressed due to Covid artificial inflation (people spending money on instruments, like it was the end of the world). I estimate these sold new for around $190 in 1972, so just keeping with inflation over the years, would be $1,444 (not even accounting for wear and use).
