It was actually sold to me as a "D'Agostino"...however when it arrived I noticed a little mother of pearl peeking out from behind the cheap looking D'Agostino decal. Scratched the decal off carefully and lo and behold, a beautiful mother of pearl Cortez logo underneath.
I guess this wasn't an uncommon practice back then, a company building guitars and another slapping its logo on there...but certainly the first time I've ever seen it on a guitar I owned. This baby also turned out to have a Dimarzio Air Classic bridge pickup that's a great match for it, and a Faber USA bridge.
Here she is all cleaned up and lookin' damn good for being born sometime in the late 1970s!
