Long time lurker on the LAST agile guitar forum--took me a week to re-find you all here. I was watching that thread because I have wanted a double cut agile for a long long time--so thanks to you all for pushing rondo to put another one out and doing all that design inputting. When the first batch finally came out, I missed the them because I couldn't decide on which finish (all of them so showy!). Then by the time I got to the preorder page for the second batch, the ocean burst was all that was left. Which was OK because that the was the one I had finally decided on. And now. . . the unopened box is in my garage! But that said, did rondo ever get in the:
AD-3200MCC Gold P90
AD-3200MCC Silverburst Bound
I never saw those listed and, if they do exist, I would love to see pics.
Thanks all.

Using the Rondo inventory hack, there are two of those, four of the GTs and three silverbursts currently in stock...MattFireblade wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 10:36 pm There is only one of the Burple AD-3200s listed, so I'm not sure how much is 'new' stock showing. I'm nervous I'm going to miss another one.
I have one coming in. Boy, I must be really sick. I keep telling myself over and over that I don't need anything else from Rondo, that I have "been there, done that with the Agiles" and am moving on (and I have for the most part)........then out of nowhere he comes out with something new that I find appealing. I already have four 3200-series guitars. What am I gonna do with this one? I will figure it out I guess. I think that we don't give Kurt enough credit as a business man! Agree, but I do like it better than the matched color backs. And it is a step in the right direction.
The 3200 sounds brighter, and its a combination of the neck through and maple cap, I am sureminigoos wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 12:56 pm So you all with the multiple 3200s . . . can you compare the tone to the AL3010SE (all mahogany)? I have been A/Bing thate AD and the SE, and (I am learning here) but they sound way different. Is that the maple cap? The neck through? The combination of the two? . . . or maybe I am nutz?
That quilt looks great. Too bad they sold out on you. And with the non-matching back looks way better; not sure why stain it so dark at all though. Why not show off the neck through stripes?uwmcscott wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 1:18 pmAgree, but I do like it better than the matched color backs. And it is a step in the right direction.
I am kicking myself for not ordering one of those 3010SE "custom select" offerings they had for a while. Those were the ones that had some limited customizations ( Color, plastics etc ) but were in the ballpark of a regular 3xxx. I confirmed at the time that they could indeed do a light/natural back tint in combination with any color chosen for the top. I was going to do a "Silvertop" wiht a light back but never ended up pulling the trigger.
While they all use Alnico 5 pickups, the new style (thinner) Al-3100m/MC/MCC, Al-3200 and AL/AD-3200MCC models have G&B pickups, the AL-3010SE has no no-name pickups. Up until very recently, everyone seemed to prefer the no-names which also came in the earlier AL-3xxx series....minigoos wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 12:56 pm So you all with the multiple 3200s . . . can you compare the tone to the AL3010SE (all mahogany)? IIRC, Kurt told another member here that he discontinued the lighter stained natural backs because any flaws showed too easily...
I don't know which pups are in my 3200 MCC (bought as a b-stock in Dec 2016) but they are my LEAST favorite of ALL of my Agiles because they are too dark! If it weren't for the splitting function, I would hardly play it at all.tobijohn wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 3:34 pmWhile they all use Alnico 5 pickups, the new style (thinner) Al-3100m/MC/MCC, Al-3200 and AL/AD-3200MCC models have G&B pickups, the AL-3010SE has no no-name pickups. I only have a 2017 SE and this new 2020 AD3200 in terms of Agiles; and the the pickups in the SE seemed really dark to me; but I replaced with with some from Tim plus all new wires and switches. Now it sounds great--but the new AD is def. brighter and actually is not bad at all stock to me by comparison. But I am just beginning to learn here. I was surprised just how diff. the AD sounds; and I didnt' realize it would have a thinner body! Makes the SE seem kinda chunky . . .dabbler wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 10:57 amI don't know which pups are in my 3200 MCC (bought as a b-stock in Dec 2016) but they are my LEAST favorite of ALL of my Agiles because they are too dark! Definitely G&Bs. I haven't opened up my AD-3200MCC yet (waiting for a reasonably priced set of used SD Saturday Night Specials to show themselves) but someone here has and they're G&Bs too. However, I've got a set of Buddhas with A4s sitting around that I might just use instead. The lefty CSBF AD-3200MCCs are supposed to be in sometime before the end of the year so maybe I'll just use that for the SDs if I happen nab a set before then...
Did you not like the a4s? In the SE I have a2/a3 unpotted; and they sound super clear at lowish volumes/clean. I have heard good things about a4s. But maybe I will just put a5s in the 3200. I have never had a4s . . . .you not having them uninstalled seems like a bad sign!tobijohn wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 7:35 pmDefinitely G&Bs. I like them a lot, I've got a set of Tonerider AC4s in an Epi Standard. The Buddhas I picked up used off of Reverb, they've never been installed in any of my guitars. Humbuckers with Alnico 4s just aren't that common. I also have some of the magnets I intend to swap into a set of Epi Alnico Classic Pros someday...minigoos wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 8:43 pm

Oh! And to quote myself here, I ended up returning that blue one . . . I have to admit, I just could deal with the blue. The frets needed some work which I always do anyway but that color . . . I was just made me too self conscious about the blue and it kept me from wanting to do the work on it. It was not a bad guitar though, but I was just not into it enough to give it the review it deserved--so I have been waiting to get a 2TS . . . a quilt one . . and they came in stock . . and and I got it today; see my new topic on that, but . . . I think its a plain top! Anyway--maybe I will return it too . . . aye! I dunno yet . . .
