I have wanted a set of these for a long time because the EBMM Dimarzios are essentially unobtanium unless you buy an Axis, and these get close. New, they are $135 USD plus shipping, border, et al for ONE pickup. I got both of these used for less than that.
Now, what guitar should I put these in....

An update:
I got the pickups installed last night, and installed a D-tuna. And the results...oh, these are lively, even with my hack wiring job in play. I ran it through my Bogner Ecstasy Mini into my Mesa Recto 212 cab, and there were gobs of harmonics and smooth, creamy gain. Warm, sweet and buttery, you might say. . They seem to eliminate the harshness of the solid state Bogner: in fact, the pickups are almost too bassy, so I might have to put on 9-42s (9-46 on the guitar now). And the neck pickup is one of those that seems to generate the notes on its own and keep them going endlessly. I don't know if they are dead on the Music Man Dimarzios, but when I dropped the low-E to D, placed my pinky over the saddle point and started chugging with the side of the pick along the string, it sure sounded like "Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do)."
I'll have to futz more with the pickup height, but so far these are big winners.

Yep. The tone of the kind of folk who wear spandex and do not think "Peruvian flake" is just a weird guy from South America.
