A Stratocaster with two P90s and a hardtail bridge?

Hm, where have I seen that before... :D

In all seriousness, it's probably just as well that I got the Hawk, or I'd be seriously tempted by the Noventa Strat.

I would rather have the mahogany bodied P90 strat than the alder one, I think.

Yeah, those Noventas have no pull for me... I'm happy with my P90 Furrian, and I'm almost finished building a P90 Strat. Though that's a baritone guitar. If I wanted a regular-scale Strat with P90s, I'd just buy a Hawk... or build one.

It's cheaper to buy a Hawk, though. :)

Myself, I find a $179 SX much more tempting than a $1000+ Fedner. :D

A $1,000+ Mexican Fender... That just doesn't compute for me. But I can remember when MIMs only cost $400. Doesn't seem like that long ago... And I remember when American Fenders cost less than $1,000.

I'm not crazy about any of the color options that are available at the moment. I could get behind the powder blue one if it had a Maple fretboard, but that Rosewood doesn't look right. My P90 Furrian is CAR, so I'd prefer to have a Hawk in a different color, and while I like the idea of owning a white guitar, every time I think about actually buying one, I tell myself it's boring, and talk myself out of it. But then I can't recall ever seeing a P90 Hawk in a finish that made me stop and take notice.

Yeah, that did kind of jump out at me, to be honest. $1000 seems like a lot for something that is, ultimately, not that custom or anything. Other than the pickups and pickguard, it seems like everything about it could have come right off the the regular Fender production lines. It just seems like Fender's pricing plan is that a "regular" Strat is $800, and anything "different" adds a premium of 15% or more. But I see that a bunch have already shown up on Reverb!

You suppose this raises the price/value of all the used M.I.M Strats out there? :D

Yeah, it's actually been like that for a while, starting with the introduction of the "Roadworn" series several years ago (around 2010ish?). They cost $900 if I recall correctly, and when I first saw one at GC, I remember thinking: "that'll be the day I spend almost $1,000 for a Mexican Fender!", Now, whenever you see anything new or "different", it's always MiM, and it's always over $1k.

I just picked up a tele with two P90s. I'm very fond of it. I'd probably grab one if they were going for like half that on the used market a few years from now.

I like the SX better - there´s 920 reasons (at least) why I like it better :) -. But, where´s the 22th fret? That last fret is important. 21 is incomplete for me...
