I'll try to give mini rig rundowns where possible. I usually only change guitars but this time I wanted to try something new.
And yes, I try my best to take in as much influence from different genre's as possible. Although I was never a punk fan or got into it much, I picked up a lot from the foo fighters and trying to listen to Dave's influences which of course are tons of punk bands.
Jack White is an intersting cat too. While I don't particularly like the person, I really admire his creativity.
As for pickups... I'm very partial to my Buddha Narshbuckers. Freaking love those things. So naturally, anything similar to that like BKP warpigs, Juggernauts, Kiesel Lithiums, Seymour Duncan Nazgul/Sentients for heavy stuff. Low gain is usually something like a Seymour Duncan 59 or the Quarterpounds. I'm all over the place really. Each guitar I have speaks differently so it depends on what I'm looking for on a specific day.
But if I had to take only 1 guitar to a desert island, it would be my Kiesel Aries 7 which is loaded with Kiesel Lithiums. Those particularly sound amazing on an Alder body.
I have lithiums on a black limba Kiesel SCB and they sound harsh. Not as bad as on the vader I had, ripped them out and replaced them with Narshbuckers which had the guitar sounding like it had Dimarzio Evo's.
