Anyone know how to do "Mentions"?

I really like the "@membername" mentions on the old AGF, and I didn't think we could do it here - and maybe we can't...BUT...

I just saw this in the notifications sections of the User Control Panel (I was turning off those darned email notifications I keep getting):

Check the next to last option

So, it looks like it may be possible, but I sure can't figure out how to do it.

Yes, just the ‘@‘ and start typing the username straight afterward 👍🏻

Doesn't appear to work in Tapatalk either.

When you try to do it are you getting a list of member names as you type it out? That's what used to happen - not sure how relevant that might be now.

yes it pulls up list, but the mention doesn't seem to work

It works for me but the "@JeffBeck" does NOT.

Yeah, I definitely got the impression that the code works, I'm just not allowed to use it. I'm sure all these all these little details will get worked out eventually. I've got a short list of other minor observations, but I've been keeping them to myself for the time being... I'm sure Patrick still has a lot on his plate right now.

OK [mention]JeffBeck[/mention] and [mention]Mossman[/mention] - Give it a go now.

Please report back success or not, and what browsers or access methods seem to work.

n.b. There is a known issue with Chrome at the moment which means you have to do the [mention] [/mention] if the @ doesn't pop up the user list.
