Won't be selling via Reverb Local pickup again

Had a bit of an adventure last weekend selling my most expensive guitar on Reverb.

Posted it up for new price plus the rate of inflation since 46 took office. I had one offer that was basically what I paid in 2019, but I politely declined.

Maybe an hour later, I get notified it had sold. Only issue is I had posted it and local pickup and the contact info for the buyer was a phone number for a different state (not out of the ordinary in a miltary town as I still have a Michigan number going on 19 years since i moved here...).

I call the guy and get a voicemail, he then says his manager would call me to arrange the pickup. (Alarm bells started to ring, but I am not yet out anything more than my time). Then I get another call, speak to the manager after giving a meetup location, they are sending somebody, again spider senses are going off, but I have big plans for the money and if anything weird happens I can just cancel the sale.

I made sure that the item was marked as picked up and Reverb released the funds while we waited. They deposited the funds and all in all it wasn't too bad, but I was worrying in the back of my mind the whole time.

Come to find out the guy is a rapper, so doubt I'll see it in a music video anytime soon, but at least I can buy new tires for my Bronco now...

Just out of curiosity, what kind of a guitar was a left-handed rapper interested in?

The only reason I wasn't too scared is that the person has literally bought 30 cool left handed guitars in the last 2 months...and they have bought over 250 things (guitars, pickups, etc.) all with positive feedback since the start of the year. Maybe they are starting a left handed collection to rival yours...

Maybe he's one of those rappers like Machine Gun Kelly who likes to pose with a guitar as a prop.
